How to Get the Most Out of Your Liposuction: The After Care
Getting liposuction is one of the best ways to get a slimmer body and get rid of stubborn, unwanted fat. By scraping off and suctioning out the fat cells from your body, you can get that slender physique you have always wanted. However, although liposuction may seem like that magic tool you’ve been hoping for, you still have to put in your work afterward to maintain your results. To help you ensure that you keep your results, we have created a brief guide. Read on to learn more.
Skip Diets and Start Lifestyle Changes
One of the trends that we see amongst our liposuction patients is the excitement and desire to keep the weight off after surgery which leads to things like extreme dieting. And although extreme and fad dieting will give you fast results, they aren’t sustainable. Rather than dieting, we encourage our liposuction patients to adopt a lifestyle change. For instance, rather than eating processed, sugary foods, replace them with whole foods that are nutrient dense. By using something that’s more sustainable (like a lifestyle change), you are more likely to keep the weight off long term.
Exercise
As you age, your metabolism slows down which means that you need to compensate for it by exercising more. After you recover from liposuction, start an exercise plan that’s geared for your lifestyle and needs. For instance, if you are looking for something relaxing, try taking a yoga class a few times a week. Or if you are looking for something social, try creating a walking group with your close friends and neighbors. Whatever exercise plan you decide to go with, just make sure that you’re keeping moving.
Liposuction can only do so much for your body. It’s up to you to put the work in after surgery to maintain your results. Luckily, by creating a sustainable diet and exercise plan, you can keep off the weight and live healthier.
